Joey Gipson started playing music at 6years old with his dad playing country music on the electric bass then at 7 started playing the upright bass with his grandparents who were die hard bluegrassers then at 10 years picked up a banjo tought by his grandfather.He has won 24 state championships and 3 national top 3 and counting.He had a opportunity to open a store early 2026 and Stone Fort Music was born.

Michael Klug has been active in the old-time and fiddle contest scene around Middle Tennessee and the Southeast for years. He teaches fiddle and clawhammer banjo. Michael is also a member of the old-time stringband The Stones River Reelers who perform for square dances, folk festivals, and other functions around the region and beyond. Together with Joey, he decided to open Stone Fort Music in downtown Manchester, Tennessee in late 2025. They hope it will be a good resource for area musicians seeking instruments, accessories and lessons, and a gathering place for the local acoustic music community as well.
